Natural England have given approval for a year’s trial of a new permissive cycleway on the Roaches Estate in the Staffordshire Moorlands. This will give mountain bikers a greater range of legitimate trails to ride on the estate, and link existing routes into a much better off-road experience.
Peak District MTB and local volunteers will be meeting with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust in the New Year to put this trial into action. Ongoing monitoring of the impact of cyclists on the area will determine whether the trial extends beyond the 12 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for us mountain bikers to show what a responsible lot we are. You can catch up on Roaches stuff click here:
