At Peak District MTB’s 2024 AGM, held in December at the Adventure Hub in Bamford, we perform our important election of officers to the Committee (Greville Kelly – Chair; Andy Wood – Secretary; James Irwin – Treasurer). Chris Maloney stepped down after his 2 years as Chair, allowing him greater focus on his newly established project, The Trail Pot, whilst still staying on hand for PDMTB as a Committee Member. We are very grateful to Chris for his time as Chair and his long and continuing efforts on the Committee.
We also appreciate Greville stepping up to take on the Chairship. And our thanks to Dan Noble and Jim Cherrington who stepped down from the Committee. (Tho you can still see “Hi, Dan here,…” in his digging role working with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust at the Roaches.)
Greville has lived in the north west area of the Peak District for 20 years and is a regular rider across the Dark Peak. About becoming Chair of Peak District MTB, Greville said:
“It is a great privilege to be able to lead the committee in 2025, there are some exciting opportunities to continue our work to protect, preserve and improve current rights of way for mountain biking. After a decade of great work by Peak District MTB committee members and chairs, all on a voluntary basis, we now have the ear of some key stakeholders, who are keen to work with us to deliver sustainable improvements to MTB access across the Peak District.”

Chris updated AGM attendees on our work, including developments with Chatsworth, Yorkshire Water, and the PPCV (Peak Park Conservation Volunteers) – with the possibility of us doing trail maintenance in new areas. As well as an update on The Trail Pot.
Wider general discussions touched on various areas, with night riding being prominent and topical.
We rounded out the evening with an entertaining quiz, with a great selection of prizes – our thanks to those who donated. Watch out for further updates through the year.

An unusual amount of the Committee in the same place at the same time.
