A couple of weeks have passed since the latest British Heart Foundation ride which started in Hope. Peak District MTB have been working with the BHF for a few of years now and our input has helped improve the route, making it more sustainable as well as fun for riders. This year BHF asked us for help again and up stepped eight really kind volunteers who, along with Mini Mansell braved the weather (deep snow!) to marshal at the event.
We want to say a huge thanks to Adrian Heath, Graham Koch, Keith Warton, Martin Wright, Sarah Weir, Brian Savage, Pat Rubix and Chris Howard, without whom the event could not have run. They were even willing to give up their day twice as the event had to be rescheduled.
In return for our help the British Heart Foundation have generously donated £750 to Peak District MTB to help with our trail repairs and advocacy work. It’s great to work with originations that are as keen as us to promote mountain biking in the Peak District and are willing to give back to the area in which we ride. Watch this space to see how the money they raised makes a difference.
