Derwent Edge Trail Maintenance

Getting Hands Dirty

It’s worth remembering some of the other activities Peak District MTB get up to. Many of the trails we love to ride need ongoing maintenance to keep them in good, rideable condition. We work with Peak District National Park rangers to sort out common issues such as poor drainage or re-routing multiple lines into a definitive line.

Many trails can really struggle with drainage, resulting in unpleasant surfaces that can get torn up and damaged. This isn’t sustainable without intervention. In December last year a team was out building new drains on a trail above Ladybower and the results speak for themselves.

This kind of work can’t be done without volunteers and this year we will be looking towards our members and supporters to get involved. Keep an eye on the website, our Facebook group page and our Twitter feed for news of upcoming dig days.
