The planned dates are these Thursdays:
- 4th November 2021 – Whinstone Lee Tor
- 25th November 2021 – Whinstone Lee Tor
- 9th December 2021 – Location TBC
- 27th January 2022 – Location TBC
- 17th February 2022 – Location TBC
- 10th March 2022 – Location TBC
As well as continuing our bridleway trail maintenance work on Whinstone Lee Tor (and Derwent Edge), other locations will likely include Elmin Pits and Mam Tor/Edale.
We normally start at 10:00 am and work through till about 2 pm. The meeting point for the first two dates is the nearby layby, just up from the start of the path. Or you could stop by as part of a ride and join us on the trail. Tools will be provided (snacks too, maybe). View the location on a map: Open Street Map / Bing OS Map
Experience and muscles are useful, but not a prerequisite for would-be volunteers. The work will mainly involve digging drainage channels with spades and mattocks, reshaping some lines, re-positioning some small rocks. We will be working with a Peak Park Ranger, who is also a long time mountain biker.
If you’d like to join us, let us know via the Facebook events (and amend if your plans change) that will be posted. That way we can have enough tools ready for the day.
There are also regular dig days in the south of the Peak at the Staffordshire Roaches, usually every second Sunday of the month.
If you can’t make it along to any of the dig days, but want to support the work then please consider donating to Peak District MTB.
Thanks for your on-going support.
